This Photograph taken in the 1940s of Kimball is long after the famous Chisolm Trail came through. Kimball only had a few buildings left by the 1940s and most were removed before Lake Whitney was built.

The Kimball Ferry once crossed the Brazos just south of where the current bridge crosses. The wheels and cables were adjusted to allow the natural river current to push the Ferry back and forth across the river.
